The Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, announced the opening of the World Cup on track bicycles at the Cairo Stadium from 14 to 17 March, which is being held with the participation of 58 countries representing all continents of the world, under the auspices of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi gave a speech at the beginning of the opening ceremony during which he welcomed the missions of the nations of the world participating in the tournament, and the Minister of Sport thanked the President of the International Cycling Federation, David Labrtian, for his confidence in the organization of the tournament to Egypt.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhy also commended the efforts of the Egyptian Cycling Federation headed by Dr. Wageh Azam to complete all the organizational matters of the tournament to the fullest and in conformity with the requirements of the International Federation.
In his statement, the Minister for Youth and Sports noted that the World Cup for Bikes was the 300th major international championship hosted by Egypt in recent years during the reign of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. He stressed that the hosting by Egypt of so many tournaments confirmed the leadership and excellence of Egypt in organizing and hosting major sporting events.
