UCI President David Lappartient said that Egypt has recently succeeded in the organization of the Tissot UCI Track Nations Cup, and prior to this, it excelled in organizing the 2021 UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships. Lappartient pointed out that Egypt’s success in organizing these two championships paved the way for International Cycling Union to agree by majority in its last session, to assign the organization of 2024 UCI Emerging Cycling Countries World Championships which is scheduled to be held in March 2024 to Cairo, Egypt. Egypt’s ability to host major championships and the Egyptian state’s interest in sports facilities, especially the Cairo International Velodrome which is in accordance with international and Olympic standards, has become clear to everyone.
